APRIL 24 – 26, 2024 MONDRIAN IBIZA & HYDE IBIZA Carrer de Sa Talaia, Cala Llonga
IMS Ibiza, the pioneering hub for discussions at the crossroads of culture, education, industry, and wellness within electronic music, unveils today the comprehensive agenda for its fifteenth summit edition. Spanning over 60 discussions and sessions, more than 125 speakers will converge with thousands of delegates to scrutinize the current state of the electronic music industry in 2024 and outline the roadmap for the upcoming year.
Over the course of three days, IMS Ibiza will bring together trailblazers, innovators, visionaries, and disruptors from across the global electronic music landscape in one central location, offering avenues for delegates to delve into leading practices and innovations across fundamental pillars of music, technology, diversity & inclusion, education, and health & wellness. Led by prominent BBC Radio 1 figures Pete Tong MBE and Jaguar, the summit will dissect pivotal topics and issues vital to the global electronic music community, alongside unveiling the eagerly awaited IMS Business Report and its annual industry valuation figure, which has become instrumental in the industry’s trajectory and prosperity.
The cornerstone session of the first day of the summit will spotlight “Reconstructing Our Community: Strategies for Reinstating Peace, Love, Unity & Respect.” This session will probe into methods to uphold and revitalize the core values of the industry in times of fracture, as witnessed amidst recent global events. Moderated by Georgia Taglietti, Culture & Campaigns Manager of the Association For Electronic Music, the discourse will feature contributions from artists DJ Pierre and Madame Ghandi, Ruth Daniel from In Place of War, prominent agent Maria May, and Author & Professor Timothy Morton. Professor Morton, a distinguished figure from Rice University, will kick off the session with a keynote address titled “Can you feel it? What I Learned About Belonging To Earth Since 1988.”
Serving as a platform for leadership and forward-thinking, IMS Ibiza will showcase keynote addresses from two revered figures in the music industry: “AlphaTheta & One Through Music: A Company’s Search For Meaning & Finding A Higher Purpose,” featuring an opening keynote address by General Manager EMEA Mark Grotefeld, alongside an exclusive 90-minute keynote speech by Michiel Beers, founder of Tomorrowland. Beers will offer insights into the festival’s evolution and the substantial impact of the Tomorrowland Foundation, which supports underprivileged children through the establishment of music + art schools.
Keynote interviews spanning the spectrum of the electronic music industry and beyond will take center stage at IMS Ibiza. Amapiano sensation Sarz will engage in a conversation with Charisse C, Founder of Abantu and NTS resident. Health and wellness-focused discussions, presented by The Art of Areté in collaboration with AlphaTheta, will feature Brazil’s rising talent Mochakk and Chloe Caillet, exploring topics like “Music As Medicine” with Ninja Tune’s Matt Black, and “Digital Well-Being in a World of Distraction.”
New for 2024, The Brave Space, presented by the acclaimed collective HE.SHE.THEY. in partnership with Downtown & FUGA, will curate its own content, including live recordings of RA Exchange podcasts featuring industry stalwarts like Smokin’Jo, DJ Pierre, and Juan Atkins. Furthermore, IMS Ibiza will host discussions on pertinent issues such as the global electronic music scene, the impact of emerging genres on breaking boundaries, and the role of music in addressing the climate crisis.
In addition to insightful discussions, IMS Ibiza will offer opportunities for networking and celebration, with events hosted by industry leaders and influencers like Ultra Records, Helix Records, Ballantine’s True Music, and more. Delegates can also anticipate parties at iconic venues such as Pacha, Club Chinos, Amnesia, and Ushuaia, culminating in the unmissable seven-hour closing celebration, IMS Dalt Vila, presented in collaboration with AlphaTheta, set against the backdrop of Ibiza’s historic old town and its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.
