Born in Karachi, Pakistan, and currently residing in Bahrain, Derek J, also known as dubMizaaj, emerges as a prominent figure among the new wave of DJs. With a passion for electronic music igniting his journey two decades ago, Derek J has steadily carved his niche in the industry. His performances, both solo and as an opening act for renowned DJs, have contributed to his evolving sound and undeniable growth.

Having held long-term residencies at venues like Sky Bar & Cocoon Club in Bahrain, Derek J has left an indelible mark on the scene. He not only provided the soundtrack for some of the Middle East’s hottest parties but also played a pivotal role in launching and curating events like the monthly Loco Barcelona parties, drawing record attendances.

Rewind two decades, and Derek J’s journey began with a radio show on Casa D’Costa radio station, eventually winning an Open Decks competition at Ibrida Club and securing his first residency at Cocoon. Transitioning to La Vinoteca Barcelona marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career.

dubMizaaj has shared the stage with electronic music luminaries such as Sam Divine, Henrik Schwarz, and Paul Darey, among others, showcasing his versatile style encompassing Deep House, Afro House, Organic House, and Downtempo. As a guest DJ on renowned platforms like The Castle Club and Ideal Club World, dubMizaaj delivers eclectic sets, showcasing his diverse musical influences acquired through his travels across Europe, including vibrant destinations like Amsterdam, Sweden, and Germany.
